The car came to a halt after a long series of drafts and turns. Maya slid open the side door and stepped outside. Paul stared outside; they arrived at the entrance of the tube.
"We will go by train from here, love." Maya said.
"You want me, a walking disease, in a public area?"
"Ah..." Maya gave a facepalm gesture as she waved her other hand, "Please refrain from puking in the train."
"Why not just..."
"Go by the van? There are places that only the train can reach, love."
"But I really don't..."
Maya suddenly pointed a pistol between Paul's eyebrows.
"I don't mind, honestly." Maya glare down at Paul, "It's much easier for me as well, since I can give up saving your life."
Paul unwilling got off the van; he was feeling worse every step he took.
"Good choice, love."
Paul's nauseous feeling increased as they entered the entrance of the tube.
"You had no intention to kill me back there."
Maya gave a light chuckle at Paul's comment.
"You are absolutely right!" Maya said, and then she continued.
"A mere bullet in your head won't possibly be able to kill you."
Paul laughed. "There is no human..."
"Human?" Maya interrupted, "You are not classified as human anymore."
Maya turned and gave him a weak smile, overwhelming with fear and sadness. They moved towards a corner where Maya lay Paul down, letting him recuperate his health.
"Stay here, love." Maya ordered as she scanned the surroundings cautiously.
It was around half an hour before Maya returned. Her white shirt had a couple of red spots added to it; her face and arms had traces of red stains that weren't wiped properly. Maya picked up the speechless Paul as they continued towards the train.
They arrived at the platform a few seconds before the train arrived.
"We are going to a place that can fix you." Maya explained.
'Or kill you.' Maya whisper under her breath so that Paul wouldn't hear her.
The train opened its door a few seconds after it came to a complete stop; Maya followed the crowd into the train. Paul nauseously stood on the platform.
"I really don't think I can go on a journey..."
"Journey?" Maya laughed in disagreement, her hair flustered as she turned her body to face Paul. With a bright, innocent smile unlike any emotions she had shown, she said excitedly.
"It's an odyssey."
